Crystal Ice Cave Adventure

When joining Glacier Adventure for an Ice Cave Tour you will get a personal experience from a local company. During this tour, you will explore a natural Blue Ice Cave in Breiðarmerkurjökull, an outlet glacier from Vatnajökull the largest glacier in Europe.

It is such a unique experience to be able to stand inside an ancient glacier and the picturesque blue ice will make you feel like you are in a fairytale. The Ice Caves are constantly changing and we can spot changes from day to day. This is truly a unique experience!

The tour can take between 3-4 hours. The meeting point is right next door to Hali Country Hotel, 13 km east of Jökulsárlón. From Hali base camp we will transport you towards the glacier on our modified jeeps, the drive takes approx. 30-40 minutes. From the parking lot, we will walk towards the glacier in a lunar landscape that has been shaped through the years by the retrieving glacier, the walk takes approx.  30-40 minutes.
Minimum age is 10 years old

Please note: We will not be the only group visiting the ice cave. This has become an incredibly popular winter activity in Iceland. Other tour companies bring guests to visit the cave which can cause it to be crowded. Please expect to share the cave with additional groups
